I began supplying Art in the Mill in Knaresborough with prints a month or so ago and am now preparing some new pieces for a group show called “10” which begins in August. It meant we all got to have a lovely day out in Knareborough a few weeks ago under the heading of research…. It was an occasionally hot / occasionally wet kind of day but we all worked along the opposite side of the riverbank. I took lots of pictures of the open gardens and the boats. (more…)

I’ve spent the day gilding and will spend tomorrow wrapping the prints for the exhibition that starts this Sunday – 2pm til 5pm at The Harrison Lord Gallery in Brighouse. Please come along. It should be jolly – and there may well be snacks!

Yesterday I delivered my Songbird prints to The Harrison Lord Gallery, ready for framing. Once the inks were finally dry i set to with a pen and ink, gold leaf and my sewing machine. They’re nothing like my other work. I think this counts as ‘personal development’ or an interesting experiment!

I am so please that, after being closed for 4 whole months because of burst pipe disaster, The Calder Gallery is reopening this Saturday! They are having an all new exhibition opening to celebrate. They will be displaying this new painting of mine. (more…)

Studio Chaos

I’ve just come back from an Easter week down in Wiltshire and Surrey with my family. Before I left I spent the day on back grounds for lino prints, knowing that they would have a full week to dry, and that I could leave my studio in this much chaos! Every surface was covered and the house smelt of white spirit and linseed oil which I liked, but Daniel and Hattie didn’t. (more…)

Play Dough ice cream …

Busy again this week. Not only completing 2 more pictures, but, having been shopping with Hattie and bought a play dough ice cream factory, having some splendid pretend picnics too. Two and a half hours on Wednesday morning. I wasn’t even allowed to get dressed first! (more…)
