Painted for 'HOME' – a solo exhibition at Heart Gallery, Hebden Bridge.

In November we lose the sun in the valley and have to venture up a hill to find it. I climbed up to Heptonstall to bright blue skies. It was very cold, but there was plenty of washing hung out. Perhaps it’s the rising energy costs, but I’ve also learned that Freeze drying is a thing, and that it’s what my Granny did to brighten the whites! This is a very stylised view with many artistic liberties taken. That’s the Methodist Chapel and the Sunday School, and the backs of the Towngate houses.
