Frozen February (2021)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, watercolour, loose pigment, collage, gold thread, 23 carat gold leaf
Painted as part of The Nightingale Project: a series of trees and nature inspired by lock down in The Calder Valley from March 2020 to March 2021 (and the brief escapes from it over the summer).
In February, the temperature dropped to below freezing for several days. The waterfalls at Mirkin Delph, and our waterfall tree in Crow Nest Woods, were frozen into huge icicles. Whole branches were encased in thick ice.
Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.
Finished dimensions: 37cm x 50cm
