This is the view back down to Bolton Abbey, standing by the fountain on the hill. This is a favourite day out for my children, Hattie especially, whatever the time of year. We've skimmed pebbles from the beach in December, fallen off the stepping stones in July, watched birds and a fieldmouse from the bird hides in April, and collected acorns in October. This is the view on the way home at the end of our day, with the River Wharfe snaking into the distance.
