Woodhouse Mill (2014)
Original media: Inks, acrylics, gouache, gold thread, gold leaf.
Woodhouse Mill lies along the tow path between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. It was originally a Cotton Mill, built in 1832, and almost destroyed by fire in 1994. It was saved and beautifully renovated in 2004. The beautiful, warm tones of the stone are quite striking, even in the winter when most of the Rochdale canal is devoid of colour. I sat and drew this mill on a spring evening when the light was warm and hazy and the canal still, like a mirror.
Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.
