Mount Grace Priory (2022)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, watercolour, 23 carat gold leaf and gold thread.
Painted for 'Whispering Ruins' - an exhibition of paintings based on North Yorkshire Abbeys at Chantry House Gallery, Ripley.
The manor house at Mount Grace was originally built as a guest house for the Priory. We visited it on the way home from Whitby in February half term. It was cold and fiercely bright with snowdrops and primroses coming out in the shady garden.
