Malham Cove (2021)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, watercolour, pencil, 23 carat gold leaf and gold thread
Painted for ‘Woodland Paths & Grand Days Out', a solo exhibition at Bankfield Museum, Halifax.
The cove always seems so silent, even when it’s busy. It’s too vast for people to make much of an impact on. We visited in July and had a picnic on the limestone pavement above, looking across the dales. There was a Peregrine Falcon nesting beneath the ledge and making a lot of noise.
