Fossiling (2017)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, pencils, watercolour, gold leaf and gold thread
I wanted to call this painting 'Mayonnaise at Robin Hoods Bay'. On a half term fossiling expedition with my children and their cousins, my little niece Clara got so cold and wet that she howled all the way back along the beach; the only recognisable word was 'Mayonnaise!". She was warmed up and calmed down with a beach picnic of chips and mayonnaise.
