Knaresborough

June 17th, 2010 by Kate

I began supplying Art in the Mill in Knaresborough with prints a month or so ago and am now preparing some new pieces for a group show called “10″ which begins in August. It meant we all got to have a lovely day out in Knareborough a few weeks ago under the heading of research….

It was an occasionally hot / occasionally wet kind of day but we all worked along the opposite side of the riverbank. I took lots of pictures of the open gardens and the boats.

I’ve started one piece

In fact I’ve started two – the seond one is of the viaduct, but I need to start it again as there’s just not enough pattern in it and I have found myself being distracted by the perspective.

I have also been preparing for the Hebden Bridge Open Sudios weekend for which I will be opeing my house from 11am – 5pm on Friday July 2nd,  Saturday July 3rd, and perhaps the morning of Sunday the 4th (I can’t do all day because Daniel is playing in a concert up in Heptonstall and I want to go and watch!).  I will have my work from the Harrison Lord Gallery and have framed and unframed prints on display. Also, because I am moving house this summer I am having a grand studio clear out and there will be lots of prints, pictures and cards for sale to anyone who is willing to brave the Keighley Rd to my house. I shall be emailing out detail shortly. I’ve not done this from home before and I hope people will come!
